Following a tough time recently, I decided to start blogging. Sharing my thoughts and knowledge to help others, aided my recovery from a mental breakdown.
Going through a transformation mentally and redundancy from my job, made me appreciate the important aspects of life. I am on a mission to create a work-life balance and enjoy our family time together. I intend to do this by maximising the money I can earn and save.
This blog is dedicated to a huge part of my personality and what I enjoy the most – planning and organising everything in life.
Some facts about me
My experience
I spent my nine-year career in the financial world
I have been on the right and wrong side of personal debt and I have recent experiences I want to share with you
Planning and booking holidays is what I live for
Show me a discount for a day out I haven’t heard of before and consider it booked
I have a knack for convincing my nearest and dearest to join me on my adventures
Taking photos of special moments and adventures is what I live for – you will see lots on this blog and my social media channels
It is a running joke in the family I should set up an event planning business – how about a blog instead??

A little bit more about me
I’m Sam, a 30 something, mummy, wife, and an avid seeker of new adventures.
I am a thrifty shopper, saving queen, and determined to create more family time & work less. You will usually find me making lists, sending instructions on all aspects of our latest holiday to the family WhatsApp group, or playing with my little girl. Usually doing something creative.
Join me on my mission to save money, plan amazing holidays and carve out the family time we deserve. As I struggled with managing money due to mental health issues, I want to share my experiences. I hope it will help other people.
Topics I will explore on this blog
Money
Money is a taboo subject for some people. But I want to be open and honest about this topic, in the hope I can achieve financial wellness and also help other people to do the same.
Planning
Planning, organising, writing to-do lists and buying new stationery. I love it. Planning has helped my anxiety levels because I can write down tasks and forget about them until I have to complete them. I plan to share my planning strategies with you.
Holidays
Holidays are what we live for. I will be sharing details of our caravan holidays, cosy cottage breaks, seaside adventures, and family days out. I will be letting you in on the excitement we feel in the run-up to much-needed family time together.
Come and join me on my adventures…
