Ad – I was always an eBay user until I saw other bloggers discussing Vinted. Like everyone else, I started by slowly listing all the preloved items I wanted to sell.
Decluttering can be a great way to clear your mind and have a home reset. We all have items we want to pass on to someone else. And it’s about finding a way to do this.
Why I use Vinted to sell my preloved items
Easy-to-use app
As a busy mum, I need a platform that allows me to upload items without hassle. It takes me much less time to list items on Vinted, than eBay. Winner!
No fees
It’s also great to feel there is no penalty for selling your preloved items. On Vinted, you get to keep the proceeds from your sales. eBay charge a fee for all sales – the higher the value, the more they take from you.
Offers and bundle discounts
You can set bundle discounts on your wardrobe. This means a buyer can have a set amount of discount applied – for buying several items. The feature is easy to use and lets you know when more items need to be added, to qualify for the discount.
The strategy I used for making money on Vinted
Important note
Before we dive into this strategy, it’s important for me to say, this may not work for everyone. Selling items on Vinted depends on so many different variables. Including pricing of your items, what you have for sale and how you promote your wardrobe.
Prior to actively promoting my items by using a set strategy, my sales were slow. And I would occasionally sell some items. I never had consistent sales. Recently, I’ve had sales following every promotional post I’ve added to Facebook. Showing the power of Facebook as a selling tool.
The timescales
I started promoting my Vinted wardrobe on 8th September 2023, up until 16th September 2023. I used set wording during this time and promoted my Vinted via Facebook. I used Vinted selling Facebook groups, where you are able to post advertisements. I also used my own Facebook page to advertise.
Including screenshots of the items I have for sale, also helped in allowing people to know whether I had what they were looking for.
Something I started doing, was replying to Facebook posts, about what people were looking for. If I had the item in my wardrobe, I replied with my standard promotion wording (see below) and a picture of the item they were looking for.
The only downside to Vinted is that you can’t filter to search for bundle discounts. When you want a lot of varied items, you end up trawling through endless wardrobes. And it can be time consuming.
Facebook is a great tool for matching up the people who want certain items, with those people who are selling them.
How much money did I make?
£143.88
This is how much money I made in just 9 days.
However, it is important to note that I spent most of my free time promoting Vinted on Facebook. And as a result of this, I wasn’t doing my general social media blog promotion, for my other blogs.
That said, the hard work paid off!

I used emojis in my promotion – which draws the eye to the post and makes it a little more user-friendly. Listing the items I had for sale, also helped me gain sales.

This was useful to read as I have been thinking of maybe selling a few unused/unwanted items bit didn’t really know how it all worked. I will have to look into getting a Vinted account!

good luck – let me know how it goes 🙂
This is a really handy guide! I use Vinted a lot to sell items, but I haven’t ever thought about advertising on Facebook groups, or even my own FB page etc. I didn’t really think to even look to see if they existed, but I suppose it’s kind of obvious. I love that you can reply to requests on those groups as well.

This is the first time I heard of Vinted. Thank you for introducing me to it. Before this I only know Carousell.
