It’s so exciting hunting for a bargain. And this is exactly what I did with our latest star purchase.
I talked recently about shopping on a second-hand marketplace. eBay is the name everyone thinks of when you say this and it is the platform which produced another amazing bargain for our household.
New dining table
About a month ago I decided I needed a dining table. It had to be small and compact, simply because we don’t have the room for a large one. We previously had a large, extending glass table and it just wasn’t practical with a baby. Things change.
My main motivation for buying a smaller table was getting my toddler involved in the kitchen. She likes to be independent and pick her own snacks from the fridge now. When I’m cooking, she also loves helping me. Rather than break my back, bending down to help her, or lifting her up, it was time for a table.
However, the small, cute, compact tables tend to be over expensive. And we don’t currently have the funds to spend a large amount of money. Therefore, I used my bargain-hunting skills.
The process
It’s strange because I don’t usually have patience in any other area of life. Just the way I am built, I guess. But I’ve waited around a month for the right table to come up. I even bid on some, then decided they were too far away or not suitable. If you use eBay, this might be considered a no-no, according to their rules. But I had to do what was best for my family.
We went from an initial table my hubby was talking about restoring, to an amazing and nice-looking plastic table, which I love.
The best part was the price – just £15.00. And I am happy with all aspects of it. The design, the price, and the problems it will solve in our house.
Memories are priceless
I am signing off this blog post now because we are about to sit as a family and eat our Sunday roast. Sometimes you have to have a little patience and perseverance in order to aid in making magical memories for your family.

I personally love thrifting one of my main goal hopefully by this year is to thrift some cool funky dining chairs.
(I’m very picky when it comes to home interior and it been a year already that I still don’t have a dining table)
