Gifted Tickets – Embracing Fun, Creativity & Authenticity
We were recently gifted tickets to Leeds Super Comicon, hosted by Unleashed Events at New Dock Hall — and honestly, it was everything a family day out should be. Fun, welcoming, accessible, and full of those little moments that stay with you long after you’ve left.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear how thoughtfully the event had been put together. As a parent, those practical touches make all the difference, and Leeds Super Comicon absolutely delivered.
What Made the Day So Accesible and Easy To Navigate
Here are just a few of the things that stood out:
- ❤️ Manageable queues — no endless waiting around with restless little ones
- ❤️ Plenty of seating — perfect for taking a breather between activities
- ❤️ Great facilities — clean toilets, food and drink options, and even a bar
- ❤️ Wide aisles and space to move — ideal for families, buggies, and anyone who needs a bit more room
- ❤️ Creative, engaging activities for kids — from crafts to character meet‑and‑greets, there was always something to explore
But beyond the logistics, there was a vibe that made the day truly memorable.
A Celebration of Authenticity
One of my favourite parts of the whole experience was seeing people show up exactly as themselves — bold, expressive, creative, and unapologetically authentic. It was such a powerful thing to share with my little girl.
In a world that often nudges us toward fitting in, events like this remind us how joyful it is to stand out. To connect with others. To celebrate what makes us unique. And as a SEN parent, I have taken this on as a mission – to expose my little girl to events and experiences where she can truly be herself.
Watching her take it all in — the costumes, the colours, the characters, the confidence — felt like giving her a glimpse into a world where being yourself is not just accepted, but celebrated.
